One story goes before the begining of WWII a Nazi delegation met with General Guisan and asked him, ' How large is the Swiss Army?'
To which he replied, '250,000'.
One of the Nazi's quipped, ' We can put 500,000 troops on your border by tomorrow morning. What will you do?'
Guisan replied,' Thats fine each of my soldiers will take two shots each and go home.'

Anyone who has had the chance to use the K31 or the STGW 57 realises they were probably the finest military bolt action and Assault rifles ever made. To the point that the STGW 57 for example has a trigger extension that is retractable, so that you can shoot without removing your mittens.

The GP11 ammo is consistent to the point where there is zero variance in OAL, Bullet Wieght and powder charge variance is under 0.01 grains. It is quite simply the very best military ammunition made. Irrespective of the Lot or year of manufacture. Which is remarkable.

Paired with the STGW and K 31 it is fairly simple to keep at 1 MoA or under with iron sights.

GP11 comes in cartons of 480 rounds packed in pouches of 60. Each person was issued one pouch with their K31 to keep at home because the magazine capacity of the K31 is 6 rounds. 10 Mags would be enough to fight your way back to the unit. The swiss typically shoot at 300 meters, and the current Swiss matches are held at that range. I personally to my surpprise and that of my fellow shooters have been able to hit a 40 inch by 40 inch target at 800 meters consistently with iron sights. (W+F diopter)

Unfortunately the Sig 550 does not meet the manufacturing standards or accuracy and stopping power of its predecessors. I have had the chance to use several, and the plasticky feeling etc took it off my list of weapons to own.

Nope the STGW taken apart. I dont own a Tokarev, no interest in the 7.62x25 round. Prefer the 9 Para and .40SW
