NAGRI at local level..
I am not sure if this subject has been discussed before, but I am thinking that even if NAGRI succeeds in pushing through our aspirations regarding the laws governing RKBA in New Delhi, Farflung states like Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur etc.. are not going to benefit too much from it.. (We have our own unique problems here). Implementation of even the present arms act to the letter would be a much welcomed gesture for normal folks here. For eg: At present in Mizoram (which by the way prides itself to be the most peaceful state in the country) The Chiefminister has appointed himself as the sole licencing authority and no firearms licences are being issued without his blessings. I am thinking, dont we all need to have NAGRI branches at the local state levels??

Re: NAGRI at local level..
Personally I think there is no harm in people opening local chapters of NAGRI in their respective states/ districts. Let us see what NAGRI has to say on this.
As far as question of local problems created by Chief Ministers, is it not better if the local people join hands together(either under banner of NAGRI or without banner of NAGRI) and tackle the local problems at the local level itself? When local MPs/ MLAs will get the message that in order to win elections they have to respect RKBA, the things will gradually start changing.

Re: NAGRI at local level..
good idea
but CM the issuing authority? how can that be? arms act does not give power to issue to CM. unless the MHA makes him the issuing authority.
some one told me the same, one joker in the arms branch at the home dept told me that the naga cm is the issuing authority. one RTI settled that one and the joker does not like me any more. but then who does?lol

I think NAGRI at local level alone can provide the required strength and loudness and also elicit different difficult experiences of gun owners and licence aspirants and provide practical help and guidance at arms reach
