Senior NAGRI member Moraad Khan recently met officials at both the Sports Ministry as well as the Ministry of Home Affairs, to discuss the recent Delhi High Court judgement concerning airguns.

His discussions with the officials of both these Ministries has been very productive and due to his untiring efforts, the Sports Ministry has taken upon itself to approach the Supreme Court to appeal the judgement as well as request an immediate stay on the order.

Cheers!
Abhijeet

Thank you for the update,Abhijeet.

But, it must be a lesson for all of us,especially those complacent about their own privilege but do not care about others' rights.Nothing is safe from the encroachment of illogic,ill-will and ignorance of the antis and the authorities. Be pro-active and fight for your legal rights.

Best-
Vikram

This is a very encouraging news. I urge that we do not celebrate after a stay is granted and do everything needed to push the matter to its logical conclusion in our favour.....

Abhijeet,
During the recent inaugural of the SAI shooting complex last monday, Sports minister Ajay Maken made the announcement that they would approach the court to get a stay and this was announced in all the newspapers. Your news is a great follow up. Thanks and keep the good work going... Shankar....in Bangalore

Thank you to every one who tirelessly is/are working towards better airguns days. Sports marksmanship will be never the same with such a illogical verdict :((

How did you conclude that a stay WILL be granted. At the moment they are only talking of filing an appeal.

I did not see any one doing anything earlier.I do not expect anything now or later other than hand wringing and long posts on how it is contrary to democratic priciples/the constitution/Mahatma Gandhi' ideals/ancient scriptures and what the sabzi wala/chai wala feels/says
