Very good to see Bindra stand up and say.

Good is that he has stated it with facts and not just emotion.

Hi NAGRI, NRAI and fellow members,
There are few questions/points in my mind for contesting this case further, pls keep a note on these.
1) If the air gun is lethel then why Indian Defence forces such as Army, black cat commandos have air-rifle regiment so far.
2) To appeal Supreme court to give security cover to meneka gandhi and her associate wit that regiment.
3) Sports equipment such as Cricket Bat, Hockey, Base ball bat can also be used to take revenge, and also had been used by our esteemed cricketer in the past.... then these sports items should also be included in licenced catagory.

While it is a sad and disheartening development, may I appeal to all of you to exercise discretion by not making any posts that show disrespect towards our judiciary or undermine its authority. Also, while speaking about the antis, please do not be abusive.Be critical. But not abusive, hard as it might be.Also, please remember that we have to obey the laws of the land whatever they might be.Of course that does not mean that we should cease the fight to amend them constitutionally and peacefully.

Please do your best to support NAGRI and help win this fight.Actions speak much louder than mere words.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

The licence has still not been imposed.

The Government of India, was a respondent in the case and was opposed to the licence on air guns.

There is a time for appeal in Supreme Court.

All users of air guns should be assured that, unless Govt. of India, comes out with a notification laying out guidelines and procedure for obtaining licences on fresh buyers, status of those already having airguns is that they can still use it as usual.

You can still buy them from shops. In this case in future, Govt. of India will also have to issue guidelines on licences to sale airguns.

The MP High Court has only last year given a verdict that, airguns are toys (since used in melas and fairs), is a sports item since being used in target shooting competitions (sold at gun shops, toy shops and sports goods shops).

So far i dont think anyone has filed against this verdict - so no opposition at all - legally.

goodboy mentor also mentioed that the appeal can also be made in the same court. I am thinking it might be that an appeal to Supreme court could be something like our only and best shot at stopping this silly but draconian move. Or have I got it wrong ?

Is'nt it also time for us to put our money where our mouths are ? No offence or malice intended.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

In days to come one should not be surprised if ever caught for carrying a pumpkin weighing above 3 kg.
The policeman will interpret it as arms, as it may harm other if hit with it.
So the man is charged for carrying arms in public place without a valid document.
A license for carrying an object that could harm other.
....A pumpkin in this case.

Never theless CHEERUP.

I wonder why the authorities never/ever thought of.. as to why there are so many unaccounted firearms in this country.
Whereas my humble mind fynk its the out come of stricker lic. system. I may be wrong.
