Abhijeet,

Convey our thanks to Rajpal S Kochhar for,as you say,".....making it possible"

Seems to be a collective effort which is what is required to make things happen. This is just a beginning and a lot needs to be done. For sure, whatever we do is going to be countered by the anti-gun lobby that has a head start on us.We can't discount the fact that they have a the ear of the current incumbent in the MHA.Coupled with the general antipathy of most Indian citizens to gun ownership,we have a tough task ahead of us to win converts to our cause.

Totally agree with you, Winnie. The opposition has a 60 year start and we have lot of catch up to do.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Dear Abhijeet,

My sincere congratulations to you for your effor which has already brought in the first success. On my return to India early next year , shall get in touch with you to join the Assocation. In your interaction with the concerned authorities , one of the aspects which needs to be highlighted is ensuring the safety of the working ladies, who are today more velnarabel than ever before. Take for example the high profile case of murder of a TV anhcor and a IT professional by organised criminals in Delhi itself, a few months ago. Therefore, it would perhaps be imperative that ladies in greater numbers need to be inducted in this Association. The present available IOFfirearms for civilians may not be quite suitable for use by the professional ladies, for whom something like Baby Browing may be more suitable.
Kindly let me know how I can contact you on e mail or phone . I have several ideas which need to be incorporated in the Associations agenda from the very inception for better results.I understand giving personal e mail address on this forum is perhaps not allowed, I am not very sure so I am not doing so.
With best wishes and wishing you all success.

Gentlemen, I'm afraid your kudos are misdirected. I was and continue to be merely a foot soldier in the battle, this meeting was a collective effort of several people which made this possible - Naveen Jindal, Rajpal S Kochhar, Gusti Noria, Rahoul Rai to name just a few of the key people driving this. None of us are in this for any recognition, but because we all believe that every citizen of this country deserves the freedoms they were promised long years back - it's time we claimed these as our right in stead of grovelling in front of others for favours!

It is indeed a great first step towards organising all of us under one banner, but it requires each one of you to support it AND to continually garner support from all quarters. Those of you who see some synergy in terms of our initial strategy and areas where you think you can contribute PLEASE DO contact me to volunteer.

Cheers!

Abhijeet,

Heartiest congratulations and heartfelt thanks for all you have initiated, organised and achieved. Thanks also to those wonderful people who pitched in to help.To you and to the cause, all the very best.

To the sceptics, this is just the beginning of what can be done if one were to commit wholeheartedly and work on it. Lend a hand people, please,it's time.

Dear Abhijeet,

"I was and continue to be merely a foot soldier in the battle,"

First let me congratulate you and all those who have gotten the rest of us gun owners/shooters onto a common platform. Ours has been an uncoordinated and resultess "effort" thus far. Without you having first taken the step to start IFG, and allowing the interaction of so many shooters/gun owners this next step, however small you consider it, is significant not only for us but for future generations as well. While we understand that a huge amount of work is required to get this ball rolling and achieve the "targets" set forth, without you this would not have been possible!

Sir, wholeheartedly I salute you! I pray that someday I get the opportunity to meet you in person and shake you by the hand.

I do not want to belittle anyone, in fact without all the people involved there is no way this cause would have reached this stage! I am merely stating that this galvanization, caused by the recent politico-legal situation would have been much more difficult without IFG. I am sure that all those who passionately believe in our just case have found it easier to communicate and move very quickly if need be, and provide support wherever needed solely through IFG.

While I cannot promise much, I will, when the time comes, not only become a member of the NAGRI, but also make a financial contribution to it within my limited capacity, and help recruit as many new members as I can.
May God bless you & your children,
May you live forever,
Anand

Gents, the membership will be opened soon enough... there is some debate on the exact fee structure, which will need to be balanced with the funds requirement, a widely inclusive membership as well as the benefits we can offer members (asides from battling for our collective cause). There are many suggestions (all good intentioned), and very soon the fund raising committee & legal/ constitution committees will meet to finalise this issue (probably as soon as this weekend).

There is also a proposal for a (slightly limited) non-voting rights membership of Rs. 1/- which is geared towards helping us drive membership in the rural areas (our core supporters). These are things which are all currently under discussion, and we would beg for your patience while we come up with solutions which will best serve the long term interests of all.

So far as we guys are concerned, its Abhijeet's effort and devotion to this cause, that has enabled the process and made us aware of NAGRI. At the meet, it was mainly Abhijeet and penpusher who highlighted the flaws in the system and the objections to the proposed draft amendments to the Arms Act. Both had done their homework well and struck home the points, to the audience in general and the MPs in particular. I am sure that it was this convincing narration which has, and will, turn the tide in favour of the gun enthusiasts.

Thank you Abhijeet for the contribution, time and effort !
