Heart warming pictures.

Seeing ordinary Indian citizens of all ages, bereft of any exclusivity or bureaucratic drama.

Thanks you Navi for sharing them.

Excellent piece Vikram, very well done indeed!

Have sent it out to some 50+ people on my address book, and will try and see if I can "seed" this in more places. :)

Cheers!

Very Good description of today's scenario Vikram . The political peoples follow the same rules like Britishers when they ruled us as they mainly own imported Pb arms freely for their self defence and not letting the civilians to own even a small bore gun .the Things may change when young shooters like abinav bindra comes in appropriate powers.
Even the "renowed shot" is very bad policy .how can a aspiring shooter reach national level with 20 yr old junk gun and desi ammo without have a standard gun&ammo ? This also makes the shooting sport a very costly show. i saw in my shooting range a girl of 15yrs shooting bulls eye in 25 mts and i couldn't because she is daughter of some current high level service man having access to shoot any number of ammo without spending any penny. this is the current scenario in most of the ranges.

cheers

Thanks guys.

Striker, true.We shall try to come out with something related to sports shooting too. We will try to cover different aspects of firearms ownership under different headers. But the remedy lies in attitude change. We can only achieve it in a concerted and persistent campaign.

Brilliant stuff Vikram, enjoyed reading it....pretty much covers all the issues in our context...given the challenges in these times, dont know if things will change over a period of time in this space...but am sure the the silent lurkers in the right places have given it a good looksie :)

Incredible article !! Great Job ! I apologize about not reading and forwarding it earlier. I am doing it now.

Also one more thing. We are all aware the US is probably the least restricted country about guns right ? Have any of you noticed a particular trend if US citizen regarding guns ? The Ex/Current Army Men. They are the most vocal about right to bear arms. The citizen who want to keep this right rally behind these extremely capable, experienced and unarguably the most knowledgeable in this subject matter. May be it's time our soldiers join the campaign. What do you think ?

Hi Vikram,
it was intended to be inserted as a quote,God knows where it has landed.
Regrets for the confusion.

This was extremely well written. I live in a part of the US where there are few state or local restrictions on firearms ownership. Carrying concealed firearms on your person is permitted with a license which almost any adult citizen who passes the background check and test can easily obtain. If you pass all checks and the tests the authorities have to give you the license. No license is required to purchase arms or ammunition, no restriction on numbers of arms or ammunition. Full auto arms and explosives are subject to certain (mostly Federal) controls. While our society is certainly not free of crime we have few acts of terrorism such as you good people face all too often...... It does seem unfortunate that the world's most populous nation does not allow it's citizens to readily possess the means to defend themselves.... I would like to see all who wish to live their own lives in peace be allowed a chance to defend themselves wherever they live or travel.
