Felicitation time for Mumbai Police
Dear Comrades,
On one hand we are fighting for our rights to defend ourselves, on the other we have these errant community namely Politicians, VIPs & Bollywood stars who "misuse" the privileges of holding a licence.
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city ... 061553.cms
Mumbai Police have now found new grounds to reject fresh applications owing to these irresponsible licence holders and activists like Hon Shri Chetan Kothari.
Its time for citizens of India & NAGRI to honour the Mumbai Police for making the city more safer as compared to 2008 by bringing the grant of applications from 36% to 26%, out of which am sure 20-24% would have been granted to people with connections & for hefty bribes and only 2-4% to the community who is winning accolades & placing India on the world map. For the rest, there is "No threats" or "No Need" for Self-Defence.
Pls pardon my data, it probably may be completely wrong and the percentages may be different.
Am only trying to imply that "Just when I thought I knew all the answers, HE changed the questions!"
Cheers,
Rup

one way to get to the problem of no threat etc from the police is simple, write and ask them to do a threat / security report and ask what are the possibility of your household being robbed you kids being kidnapped.
make sure that the question are worded correctly and only one of two possible answer is given ie there is a threat or no possibility of threat.
depending on the response given ask for on what grounds they come to the conclusion that there is no threat etc.

It is already well established by courts that getting an arms license is not a matter of "threat" or "no threat" but a matter of citizen's right. It is the procedural wrangles created by bureacracy and ignorance of people that has subverted this right of people.

"We have tightened the screws after the 26/11 terror attacks," said a senior police official on the condition of anonymity.
...what in the hell is that supposed to mean?...whats the connection between a dozen terrorists armed with ILLEGAL AK47's and licensed gun owners...? Are they implying licensed arms holders were responsible for 26/11...?
I suppose the tag "senior' before police official gives the dickhead the god given right to sprout any kind of BS logical or no.... what a farce.

Shouldnt these comments be from the police department of the country from where the terrorists actually came?cottage cheese wrote:"We have tightened the screws after the 26/11 terror attacks," said a senior police official on the condition of anonymity.

hi friends,
it is licence holder's responsibility to renew the licence as per govt rules.politicians, actors should be a role model for public.any how cracking down legal gun owners will make them go for illegal guns. i agree with ''cottage cheese''.time and again it has been discussed,so far no criminal activity has been registered, expect for one ministers son shooting a bar tender.cracking down legal gun owners cannot be apprieciated at all.at least by me.

dear dr. would you not agree that it is very locial to crack down on the legal owner since they are not able to crack down on the illigal ones?dr.jayakumar wrote:hi friends,

since they have to show that they are tackling the problem of arms, that does not mean legal or otherwise, its like throwing water where their is no fire, and saying we have put the fire out. very logical and reasonable i might add.
since no one is holding the autorities to account to what does it matter if the the arms are sized are illegal or not
