MAD MALLU COMETH!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Sujit. I am a 41 year old Mallu, born in Dew Delhi and brought up all over the place (nationally integrated!), married (ONE wife) and blessed with two beautiful daughters aged 7 & 5, and have dropped anchor in Bangalore (hopefully for ever!).
I was as passionate about guns/shooting as any child, esp a boy, can be. This interest got further cemented when I joined Sainik School. I was exposed to my share of .22 rifle training as a part of the curriculum, and dare say I was well and truly hooked! I bought myself my first airgun (a .22 National) way back when I was in the 8th Std (a whole interesting episode around that as well!). I plinked away endlessly during holidays and was considered a top shot at school. Unfortunately my eyesight (myopia) went over the threshold and I had to bid adieu to a career in the armed forces - but by then had handled almost all weapons in their armory then! (The army/CRPF/Navy guys used to conduct their war games/live fire exercises in the sprawling Sainik School grounds... being a good shot and the principal's pet helped!)
Unfortunately once I started working (largely in financial services) my interest in guns was limited to not missing any related episode on TV, and the odd assorted reading material that I came across.
It was my interest to pick up plinking again, and related searches for equipment reviews that brought me to this website. I have learnt a lot from the wealth of information here... and some of it has also left me hopelessly confused!
Next order of business would be ..
1. Initiating paperwork for KRSA membership
2. Apply for an arms license
3. Try to get adopted ( ) by a trained shooter who will help me pick up the ropes again - both in terms of equipment and more so in terms of technique.
Beneath my largely 'wacky' exterior, I am a fairly competitive person by nature, it is my hope that I will be able to 'UP' my ability enough to be able to actually compete in some of the local completions that we may have this year (Ahem ... Ambitious?? - I realise!... but hey ... why not!).
I hope to interact with all of you, and over time even meet some of you .... as the adage goes- 'Boys 'n Their Toys' make for excellent bonding - esp when helped along by suitable and appropriate catalysts/lubricants!
Looking forward to a rewarding time here!
Cheers!
