Hi fellow gun lovers,
Greetings from the hot, hot United Arab Emirates!
I am Kalyan - I was absolutely delighted to discover this forum as I have been fascinated by firearms since childhood. My compliments Abhijeet - Kudos!
A little about me: I was an army brat and enjoyed using my dad's firearms at every chance under supervision, mainly a S&W .32 Revolver, a single barrel shotgun, Winchester M1 .30 Carbine a .22 Rifle and of course the venerable Le Enfield .303 Rifle. I had more opportunity to indulge while in the NCC and at Military School Bangalore.
Having never had the chance to own a proper air rifle in India when I was a kid (my dreams were Diana and Daisy from the comic books) I was overjoyed to be able to buy replica Co2 weapons by UMAREX and few other spring piston air guns in the UAE. At present my brother and I own a collection of Co2 pistols and rifles, which we practice with at home. Being a die hard of western novels and movies, I simply had to get myself a replica Winchester Lever Action (by Walther). We have set up improvised indoor ranges, with magnetic pellet traps and other interesting targets. We also love to plink at and decimate, empty pellet tins (very satisfying sound). We have since then experimented with accessories such as scopes and laser sights. Great fun!
We also go out occasionally to gun clubs and splurge on the real things, trying out various famous hand guns.
Once again I am very pleased to be a part of this forum.
