Hi Everybody !
Many you you have probably noticed a ' GUEST ' browsing these forumns at ungoldy hours - THAT would've been me.
I've found this to be an excellent forum and the highlight for me are the members who are so very willing to share information.
I last held a gun more than 3 decades back and it was an ancient airgun made in England ( BSA ? ). I've been on quite a few hunting trips as a youngster - solely as a specatator. Wild Boar, Deer and Crocs were the prime targets. Very memorable stuff, the ultimate incident being when an injured boar back-tracked and caused havoc. A slashed stomach and hanging intestines sure do tend to stick in ones memory. [ and NO it wasn't my stomach .. but thanks for asking ! ].
Fishing too was a great pastime and real fun as our gear was extremely rudimentary. Unfortunately all these memories are 30 years old ! * S I G H *
My interest in shooting has always been Target practise and in my case I'm afraid it is more Enthusiasm on my part rather than any innate Skill or Aptitude for shooting.
I have very modest ambitions as far as shooting goes -
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Get an Airgun ( i've done that through Aimco )
2. Do lots of DIY stuff on the gun - learn from the DIY enthusiasts here.
3. Join the AP rifle club ( need some help with this, apprently one needs to be " introduced " by 2 members. )
4. Try and import an airgun.
5. Apply for a gun license.
6. Get a .22 LR
This sure is a great forum and many many congrats to Mundaire for having taken the initiative and also to the very active members who keep the action going.
I look forward to enjoying my time here, learning lots and also hopefully start contributing at some stage.
Cheers !
