Hello from Pakistan

Post by weapon247 » Fri Oct 09, 2009 9:51 pm

Hi,

Hello to all IFG members I am from Pakistan, Karachi and joined this forum as I saw some very valuable info on airguns here and generally liked the comments so am giving it a try...

I have 2 pistol with me and one is in pipeline (waiting for my licenses)....

I own a 9mm Taurus 24/7 and Stoeger Cougar in the same calibre...

I am also looking into buying a 12g repeater/rifle in the near future!

will post pic of my babies soon!

Regards,

thanks tirth!

Its very different here as more emphasis is on smaller calibres and airguns? I presume there are certain restriction on gun ownership in India? :?

As an avid gun enthusiast I must say that any restrictions is a damper for gun enthusiasts like us and serve no real purpose except for acquiring and keeping arms expensive/prohibitive while the outlaws roam scot free with whatever they like/love!!

I agreewith your views

" As an avid gun enthusiast I must say that any restrictions is a damper for gun enthusiasts like us and serve no real purpose except for acquiring and keeping arms expensive/prohibitive while the outlaws roam scot free with whatever they like/love!!"

Where guns are out lawed, only outlaws have them

Welcome to the madness..Those nice guns you have seem to be quite popular handguns. Read a lot about Stoegers ( I thought they only made Shotguns), Taurus but rarely read about Bersa Handguns from Argentina in Pakistan?

Hi Weapons 247,

Madness indeed! We are a group of gun crazy folks and you will like it here.

What is the scenario out there in Pakistan on import of Air Rifles and scopes. Can you bring these in easily? Are these available in open markets easily/ .... And at what costs??

Welcome to IFG weapon247,
Do let us know about Pakistani gun laws as well, you will probably have to post in the "Legal" section.
I hope you have a pleasant stay here.

Anand

Thanks you all for the warm welcome...

@ngrewal yes there are a lot of stoeger fans in Pakistan!! the money is well spent a very refined pistol I must say! About Bersa no they are not available in common numbers although some ppl have them but very rare..

Taurus is a rage you will find that most Taurus guns are imported in Pakistan for civilian imports only china, turkey and briazil have no restrictions and the weapons from these countries are most popular here as they offer value for money!

@Atanu well I am not a avid fan of air guns but you can find most airguns like Diana (only a few models by the way), Gamo... there is no restriction on airguns you can bring them in your luggage! Prices well a Gamo Shadow 1000 costs 20-21k (divide by 1.6 for INR) here dont know how that compares to prices in India.

@Anand My pleasureSirI will definetly post in Legal section a few facts just to roll the ball so asto speak..

two categories of weapons
NBP- non prohibited bore
PB prohibited bore
Semi auto Hanguns.. All bores upto 45cal are NPB
Shotguns--- not less than 12 gauge
Rifles... .22 calibre are NPB and in sindh all bolt action are also NPB (this is outrageous by the way are we supposed to hunt an ibex with a .22??))!!

All else PB including Aks, AR and machine pistols!!

For some reason I thought Stoeger was from Argentina hence it explains why Bersa isnt exempted like guns from China, Brazil and Turkey.

Stoegers shotguns in US are one of the cheapest so how are Stoeger Shotguns rated in Pakistan compared to Turkish ones?
