Hi friends,
Am a surgeon by profession n passionate abt guns.
I have recently joined this forum and gradually reading almost all the posts. Its really a very useful & informative.
It was my dream since childhood to own a fire-arm and fortunately after trying hard for abt 6 months I have obtained a small
arm license. Soon I'll buy a suitable (& affordable) weapon. But there is a problem..pistol or revolver..?? Which is better? I am discussing this with my gun expert friends, however, particularly this forum has given me much info that I didn't know before.

welcome to the forum mate. i'm an anaesthetist myself. hope you enjoy your stay here, and do post often.
the pistol/revolver arguement rages on now and again at IFG, as your browsing of old posts must have thrown up (barring the crackle-crackle vjha ones
). i guess it does depend on your budget as well.

Dear Brothers-In-Arms
Greetings ! Thanks a lot for your kind words.
I've been thru a lot of info in here on the forum with re : Pistol vs Revolver debate. Understood that an IOF .32 Revolver is good to begin with but again if one's willing to be tied to it for next 5 years (which definately isn't my idea). I'd certainly like to upgrade it to a better version of available Imported Pistols (depending I can find one).
For the moment, I'm looking forward to spend abt 1.5 for my first piece of art.
Can any1 please advise if there exist any better choices in the market in this price range. Frankly, I feel more inclined towards owning a Pistol than a Revolver. My knowledge about weapons is quite limited.
I'd really really appreciate if the GURUS can please Help n Guide me thru this by showing some enlightment. Thanks.
Cheers...Seadragon

Welcome aboard and if you conduct some search there are multiple threads discussing the issues you are seeking guidance on. Imported stuff keep in mind the cost, their age and in the respect IOF guns provide a great value - bang for the rupiya.
Also do read the experience of a member who purchased Swedish pistol which turned out to be desi made illegal piece.
Best of luck
