Hey Guys.. Over the last couple of days I have been reading various posts as a guest, and have now registered to be a member. Would like to compliment the effort put in by the people responsible for this fantastic site. I reside in Mumbai, and own a Colt 1911A1. A beauty.. So glad to be a part of this group.

Mumbai is the only city in India which is endorsing .45 on lics as a NPB,refer the post by Hock Ann re "Punishment for using arms " below. After reading this Mumbai .45 owners might want to excercise caution.PB bore lics can only be issued by the MOH in Delhi. This has been debated on the forum earlier also.

S.7--PROHIBITION OF ACQUISATION OR POSSESSION, OR OF MANUFACTURE OR SALE, OF PROHIBITED ARMS OR AMMUNITION -- No person shall----(a) acquire have in his possession or
carry; or
(b) use manufacture, sell, transfer, convert, repair, test or prove; or
(c) expose or offer to sale or transfer or have in his possession for sale, transfer, conversion, repair, test or proof; ANY prohibited arms or ammunition unless he has been specially authorised by the
Central Govt. in this behalf. Further a gazette notification under rule 41 of the Arms act, the Central Govt. granted exemption to the licensed dealers and other licencees possessing any such
ammunition at that time , from the operation of S-7. subject to some conditions for them...

Sheer case of "KUCHH KHOYA AUR KUCHH PAYA" Mumbaikars are not allowed to possess 357 Magnum.
45 lobby's getting stronger with every passing day in Mumbai, it'll help every ones cause one day hopefully. BTW,
45ACP was never an official Army or Police caliber. The allies dumped them in India on their retreat from South East Asia and the British welcomed the free gift with open arms and pronounced it PB. Let's work towards making 303s as a civilian bore as it is in England.
