Sincere thanks to Forum administrators for letting me in. My acquaintance with guns was limited to watching my grandfather clean his Webley Scott pistol long time back. My all consuming desire to own a pistol from that time is still unfulfilled. IFG is the next best thing. Looking forward to an interesting and instructive experience.

Welcome aboard Ambi, wondering if your username is inspired by that iconic car made by Hindustan Motors, the Ambassador, fondly called the "Ambi" or "Amby"?

I think those of us, above a certain age, would have many memories associated with that car.

'ambi' is the pet name for the last child, if male, in Tamil. Owning an Amby was, of course, the proof of success in one' life.

i also got a gun but not able to trace my grandpa gun, it was sold before independence.
Only the hunting stories of my grandfather with British and erstwhile royal families told at my young age (early 70’s) are remembered as a faint dream.

Alas I don't have any photo of the WSPistol .No cellphones then! Sometime after retirement, he transferred it to my uncle who was in Police. No Idea what happened to it.

Yes, Ambassador is something way more than a just as a commuting vehicle...I stole our Ambassador a few times, when parents were not around... learnt to drive on this....btw... those were the days, when a 12-year old boy carrying a .22 Air Rifle was not too scandalous.

While I humbly wish Ambi, I apologize for the tirade on Ambassador....Mundaire's post triggered some memories.
