Greetings from a week old new comer
Dear members and moderators of the forum, salutations!
I am a 62 year old practicing Chartered Accountant with offices at Delhi and Kolkata and hover between these two cities for my professional work most of the year.
My interests, other than my professional matters, are largely in languages, literature, history, photography and calligraphy.
Another hobby, quit for over 3 decades now, that just has occupied my interest, a few weeks back is practicing air gun shooting for aim only. I did have an active and a passionate interest in the past, and had an Model 45 AR and a smooth bore underlever airgun that had got me a deadly accuracy by active use. Of course I did not use them for small games like my friends at New Delhi did. I never killed or shot any bird or animal by their use. I was thus not much unhappy when in 1999, both these airguns got lost while relocating to Kolkata. The chapter was closed.
Recently my guide to airguns (en ex serviceman and a 12 bore DBBL enthusiast) who is a resident of New Delhi and a clay pigeon shooter, had allowed me to take a few shots on flying clay pigeons from his family heirloom 12 bore DBBL . I was successful in my third attempt. He asked me to buy and target practice with a .22 bore airgun once more.
I got to know of this forum from my internet searches on .22 airguns. I have had the good fortune of making friends with Mr. Basu my fellow Calcuttan who is a stalwart on airguns.
Thanks.

Dear Shyamal,
You have used heavy words before my name, I feel flattered.
When I joined on this forum , back in 2009 , this forum was very very lively.
Over the years , many have stopped writing.
There are new enthusiasts , who are carrying on with the discussions and inputs.
When I bought my 1st AR back in 1984 , I used to put Singer Machine oil in the transfer port.
Later , through this forum I could come to know that it was not correct.
It has been a wonderful experience to be on the forum and during this time my friendship spread all across India.
This forum has given me friends like 76 yrs old Brihacharan or 19 yrs old sam47.
At 56 , I did not face any hindrance to become friendly with them.
One commonality it there , we all love guns.

Re: Greetings from a week old new comer
Hello everyone
Ever since childhood i was fond of guns and shooting but over the years lost touch with it.
Now in the age of 24 i have decided to start it again and that too in a professional level as i used to love shooting and i was pretty decent at it too.
So i require the expert guidance from all to help me choose a shooting club and move ahead with my passion for shooting.
Thanks
Regards

The north Calcutta rifle club and west Bengal rifle association are the best I know of. Other more experienced members will help you choose better. You can also the search function. This questions have already been answered.
