Hello Guys,
I am lurking around on this forum from long time and today I decided to introduce myself.
I am 19 years old and I belong to Village Near Goraya, It falls in jalandhar district(Punjab).
I have fond of guns from childhood and I have good knowledge about guns.
Right now I do not own any firearm but my family and relatives own few dbbl's and revolvers.
I am studying electronics engineering in LPU and I participated in air pistol shooting competition there.
We have a shooting range in Phillaur(around 15 km from here) but I do not own any membership or never went there.
I will appreciate if someone can help me in setting things up or getting membership, I want to participate in shooting competitions.
I also want to buy a air pistol but don't have the club membership to import it.
I know i am younger in age and a bit skinny but I am working out on it.
Here is me holding a dbbl:

They did not let us fire the below weapons but I was allowed to remove the magazine put some dummy bullets and load it in chamber.
Holding a indian version of Tevar-21( or maybe called x95 in india?)

Welcome to IFG.
I'm sure you will have a great time here.

As sohampaul11 mentions, if you are going to handle firearms on a regular basis, it would behoove you to get familiar with the four rules of firearms safety.

1. All guns are loaded (Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.)
2. Never let the muzzle cover anything that you are nowt willing to destroy
3. Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target
4. Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

Welcome aboard buddy. You will enjoy your time here and learn many things, so be ready to absorb and assimilate it :)
XL has listed your first lesson in detail, do take note cause you were lucky the finger in the wrong place only just ruined the photo op and nothing else for you.
Live and learn

AK, I know your answer may seem reasonable to you, but do listen to XL. 30 years ago, I very nearly killed my Brother with an LC Smith 12 Ga double barrel in nearly the same way. We were about 5 feet apart and the blast hit the asphalt pavement between us, blowing a huge crater out of it.

You "think" the gun isn't loaded -- what if your assumption is wrong?

The hammers are not cocked -- what if you are distracted sometime and have them back, or partway pulled back?

If you follow XL's advice, which is basic gun safety practiced by all, you never touch the trigger until you are ready to shoot. That can prevent an unfortunate accident. Take my word for it.

Timmy thanks for your advice, I would surely try to keep my finger in control.
Also guys I need someone with membership to import a me a air pistol so I can start shooting.
