Good morning gents and just popping in to say a big hello from the UK.

Just found your site whilst doing some research before taking a job offer in Pune.
I am a keen shooter in the UK, having NRA range officer qualifications, Local club committee member. I own and shoot many types of rifles, hand guns and shotguns, last count over 14 different guns :D

I am currently looking at a 2 year contract with a company in India and i am almost certain i will be taking the position, so with that in mind i am trying to find rifle/pistol/clay clubs in the Pune districts (even travel to Mumbai) if the club is right and fits my needs.
I dont intent to bring my rifles and associated guns with me to India as it is too much paperwork from the UK and Indian governments.
What i would like to do is get a certificate to own and shoot in India in its own right.
I need to understand what ownership rights you guys have, i.e pistols / handguns, rifles and shotguns.

Hope you can help.

Hello Andyh

Welcome to our forum.. Pune is a nice place to live in but a bit cramped these days.. Maybe someone from our forum can help you with your request. I am not too sure there are any shooting clubs in Pune but i could be wrong. Mumbai has a good shooting fraternity though and the Maharashtra Rifle Association has a number of shooting galleries in Mumbai.
Happy shooting

Welcome aboard, Andy.

The chap to contact would be Z375 on here. Incidentally, you are the second Brit who chanced upon IFG just before shifting to Poona.

P.S.: As far as I know, Poona does have a rifle range.
