Kuldeep,

Welcome here. Since you are a 10m air rifle shooter, why not try our 10m online match and join us in having some fun? Just check out the rules and post a picture of your best 10 shot group.

Pran,

Both the colleges in which I studied in Madras, MCC and Loyola, have their own rimfire ranges especially for NCC cadets. IIRC the Madras Medical College even has a centrefire rifle range as does IIT MAdras. I am sure there are more. I think the older colleges across India have rifle ranges while the newer ones which were built on smaller plots of land don't.

Cheers!

Kuldeep,

Welcome to IFG. Best of luck for your target practice.

Mehul,

I have some support for your theory about land use and shooting ranges: the boarding school I went to (RK Mission Narendrapur), which had ~350 acres of land, actually had a centrefire rifle range for secondary and higher secondary students. I still remember, I once lost a .22 empty case during NCC range practice and got my head chewed out so bad I almost cried.

Of the cartridges issued for training, the loss of empeties of upto 10% of the total no. is considered to be acceptable by the NCC and the Armed forces

Next time I'm in India, I'm going to find the JCO who bawled me out and tell him that . Man, I was 15 and I felt like digging a hole and crawling into it.

thank you all for accepting me as a memeber. i am in 10m air pistol and have bought a STEYR LP10 4 5 days back and still wondering how to fill that up because the shooting range at my college have only CO2 cylinders so if anyone can tell me where to buy a compressed air cylinder and pellets,it would be great help to me. thanx again

Well, I wasn't that lucky :( The Principal of the college i study in made a hue and cry about giving us a bona fide certificate to procure Police verification certificate for joining the Civilian Rifle Training.
