Hello everybody, this is my first post here.

I am Tutu (nickname) from Calcutta. (Hence my UserID is - '22cal', easy to remember! Right ?)

I was searching for a suitable rifle club for one of my young relative and stumbled upon your nice community called IFG.

My first gun is almost 34 years old. It is a beauty form Aero tech Industries. It's an .177cal air pistol (smooth bore) called Canon Model- LP15. I know all my friends in IFG will ask for a pic. Right ? :D I shall post it within a few days, just suggest a right thread to post it.

Before asking you any questions, I have to go through many threads in IFG. You have gathered lot of information here.

Have a nice time ...

It seems the rules are very strict here. :(

Here are some pics of my 34 Year old Canon LP-15.

Does that qualify me as an IFG member ? or I have to scan my airgun license and post it here. :D

Welcome aboard 22cal.

Nice looking pistol. I have a Sheridan 20 caliber air rifle that is also 34 years old now that I am thinking about it, and I bought it new!

Thanks for the warm welcome.. :D

The Aero Tech products are really good looking. Many of IFG members have either Canon LG65 or LG35, I hope they will agree.

I have not taken much care for this pistol. Just smeared few drops of machine oil or WD-40 regularly, all over the body of the pistol, and the gun remained like new. Only the power of the spring decreased over time. I am planning to give it to Aero tech for a complete overhaul. (to change the spring and replace the washer etc.) Though it has a smooth bore, it could send a pellet straight across 10 meters when it was young. :D
Like it's bigger cousins, it has a trigger adjustment screw just under the trigger cap. The softness/hardness of the trigger can be adjusted with that screw.
Nowadays nobody makes such good looking wooden stocks for air pistols with curving.

I have a Canon LG65 too. I am planing to put a rifle scope on it. I talked to Mr. Debananda Dutta of Cobra Precession, which is just a block away from my house. Mr. Dutta told me that there is a person in Kolkata, who makes scopes. He said these local scopes will suit best for a springer like LG65 and those will not cost more than Rs2000.

Now my problem is – I am not getting a scope-rail anywhere in Kolkata. I asked Aero tech, the makers of Canon. They said they will wield the rail for me, for just Rs100, but I have to provide the rail. No other shop is having a scope rail. So I am planning to make some scope rails from the blue print of Striker and glue them to my LG65.

Hope this helps you , needs few modification as per your needs :-)
Those who have used that blueprint, just tell me if it works.
Those who used SnIper's custom made scope rails, please give some feedback on it's drawbacks (if any). Please give any other suggestions which may help executing my plan.

I know Tirthas have already fitted a scope on his old Canon LG65. But he is an expert gun-hacker, and I am just a novice.

Shall I shift this discussion to some existing thread? Or shall I open a new thread about fixing a scope-rail on Canons?
