i have a local calcutta made air rifle, some lion and lion make, its old and basic, just for plinking.
i am getting two ihp .22s fitted with scopes and with some slight mods on them and am in the process of acquiring an arms license to commence double trap shooting.
other than that, i have a few lances and a sword or two lying at home.
i have fired a lot of the army weapons throughout my childhood.
the civilian side is new to me.

Welcome Safarigent. Good to have you here. You could write a post on your lances and swords in the Knives and edged weapons section. Was your father in the cavalry / Army ?

do read legal eagle and learn about arms act and rule.you will have a good insight before you venture into a real firearm.Abhijeets blog is very informative and people like vikram, subal, naga, target have immense knowledge about firearms,do PM them, they are all very helpful.don't forget prasanth singh he seems a born hunter.there is so much potential in this ifg;ians who seem to be a shy to boast themselves and i know so many who can bet an gold medal in every event.its the indian law that keeps them abay.happy shooting friend.

lion and lion make
am i the only one seeing the irony here.
the airgun makers probably knew of 'leon and leon' of Calcutta. the famous gundealers of the early nineteenth century and 'modified' the name.

Welcome to IFG Safarigent!
What a great combination - 'horses & guns'; cowboys will be cowboys - wishing you a fun experience here at the forum
Thats a nice one about the Leon, Layon, Lion and perhaps even LOIN - hilarious! Now we know why China leads the world in knock-offs; they seem to pay attention to detail (at least, some of the time)
