Dishkaon Dishkoan or is it bang bang!!
Hi Guys ,
I am Kiran from Hubli.
Been following the posts on IFG for some time now.
About me, I have always been fascinated by guns and knives ever since I can remember. As a kid used to make my own Bow and arrows out of bamboo sticks and Badminton racquet guts and was considered an expert catapult maker among my friends.
Currently I don’t own any firearms, though a few where held by my grandpa, an occasional hunter, He gave them away long time ago. I always ask my aunt and my mum if they had seen the weapon and heckle them asking the details. I have a couple of knives two rat brand knives both folding type pen knives one of which is fashioned to look like a key with a blade hidden inside! Both of them in dire need of restoration ,I also recently got a kukri from Nepal its a decent piece and am looking for a Balisong.
I have handled air rifles for a long time .But not a gun powered one yet. I love bolt action rifles Would love to own a one day preferably a .22LR hopefully not a IOF.
I am also an auto enthusiast love cars and bikes and machines in general, I am also an avid reader, and I download a lot off stuff off the net. The books I am currently Reading related to Guns is “The art of rifle “and” The Ultimate sniper, among magazines “Guns magazine “Field and Stream" and "Outdoor Life”.
I would also request fellow members to suggest some books to get my basics right.
One of the main reasons for me to join the IFG was to show solidarity with you guys and my support for NAGRI , the recent move by the MHA asking for a Verifiable proof of harm to ones life is a Joke but seriously it has made me Paranoid. I don’t think VIP's need protection it’s more like we need protection from the VIP's. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!! I do not understand why the Gov is so keen to deny the most basic of our rights when they themselves have failed to provide it!
It was truly said " A patriot must protect his country against its government"
Well guys that's about it from me .
Cheers
Kiran

Welcome aboard.
Looks like you are writing about me. (some bits.)
I saved money to pay a handsome sum of rs.20 to buy my first rat brand. It was shaped like a bowie blade. I thought I looked so cool when i carried it for fishing trips and showing it off to the fishermen.

You want more gun control? Use both hands!

Welcome to the forum Kiran,
Its been long since we had a proper introduction by a newbie, thanks a lot for taking out time and introducing yourself. I think you are absolutely right when you say that we need protection from the politicians, atleast recent incident of road rage by a Karnataka minister justify your comment.
Welcome once again and post often.

Some builder overtook car of a minister, Mr. minister and his gunman manhandled the car owner and his family. I was pretty neutral till yesterday as now days there are many rash drivers on the roads but after reading comments of minister in papers today (I am a minister, how can he do that). I think we really need protection from these ministers.

Hello Kiran,
Normally, I am not very impressed by newcomers, till such time that they start posting articles of substance, but your introduction was very good. I sincerely welcome you to this world of ours and quite clearly see that you have similar pedigree- I share with you bamboo bows and arrows, the catpult and the khukri. I am sure that your dream to own a bolt action .22 lr (definitely not IOF) will be realised in the near future.
Looking forward to your posts.
Regards

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.
