New Introduction

Post by M H GANDHI » Sat Aug 14, 2010 10:12 am

Hello Everybody,

While going through various sites on rifles, guns, revolvers & pistols I got across this wonderful site as such have registered myself as a member.

Since a very young age ( as my father was in the army) love, admiration and respect for weapons was always at the bottom of my heart. I had the oppurtunity and previlege to use some of the small arms at various rifle shooting ranges. My father owned a LUGER 9mm (parrabellum) pistol and on his death in 1979 we had to surrender the same as it was a prohibited bore.

As of now I intend to purchase a Air Rifle either a BSA or Diana, anybody intending to sell may please respond.

I would also like to join a Rifle Association in Mumbai which will help me in harnessing my skill in rifle shooting. Please HELP.

I am employed with Bajaj Electicals Ltd, at Mumbai as AGM - Marketing, Appliances BU.

Incase any meetings are held will be very pleased to attend the same. I am reachable on ***it is not advisable to post your number on the open board - moderator***.

Thanks, Cheers, enjoy the weekend and celebrate the 63rd Independence Day.

Regards

Mahiar Hoshang Gandhi

Welcome to IFG, M. H. Gandhi. A happy Independence Day to you too.

It's a real shame you had to surrender your dad's Luger. :(

As for your requirement for a BSA or Diana air rifles, have a look at the Buy / Sell section of the forum. You may find something that may interest you. Or check the Yellow pages section for Gun dealers in Mumbai.

I'm sure members from Mumbai would be able to help you in getting membership in a rifle club and then you can import your own .177 cal air rifle.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Welcome aboard - sad to know your heirloom the Luger a great pistol was taken by authorities. Thats said that Indian policy makers cant even let a soldier hang on few such things . Although in some states and instances we have seen folks were able to retain the gun as heirloom and get lic transferred. Its sweet gun I saw one in India eons ago.

Cheers
