Hoi everyone. My first post here. Based in Dubai, UAE. Do trap shooting and also with .22 and AIr Rifle here in Dubai.
In Dubai I am a keen off road desert driver as well. Will post pics and more detailed information later. Shooting and outdoor sports run in the blood. Nothing better but our versions of field sports. Very happy to find this forum.

Welcome to the forums Shahid!
Do post pics of your landcruiser (in the 4X4 forum), my family used to have one of the old style ones, and it was pretty indestructable. I have always been partial to them since.

Ah you like Landcruisers. Sure I will post pics. I have 2 of them A Landcruiser Prado VX, V6 3400 cc and a Landcruiser VXR - V8 4700 cc.
The best vehicle available to mankind. Car for a car, off road vehicle unmatched by any other.
We drive them a lot on the desert dunes every weekend here in Dubai. They have conquered the desert and mountain wadis here.
The LC Prado I have was bought in 1999. I have driven it 290,000 km, out of which about 150,000 off road, mostly desert. Even today ( our weekends are Friday and Saturday ) it climbed 1200 ft dunes as if it was a new car. During the summer the sand temperatures are over 60 degrees centigrade here. With 2 A/C working full blast it still conquers the dunes.
Danish, send me an e mail on how to post pictures here please.

Hi Mack The Knife. Thanks.
Yes that certain sensitive subject of India, got to be careful about it. God alone knows when we will get freedom from it and practise our outdoor field sports with our heads held high. Will the glory days ever come back in India ?

Hi Shahid,
Don't know if the old days will be back, most probably not considering the loss of habitat.
Do feel free to talk about your hunts outside India though.

Welcome to IFG Shahid, I can't believe I spent 14 hours in a hotel room twice in Dubai. If I knew you then, we cd probably have hooked up and had some fun. Well, maybe next time. Insha-Allah.
I shoot ATA trap a lot, shot international once, it was fun. Any shooting is fun. Check out our hunting pics that Amit has posted. I'll post mine soon.

Welcome Shahid,
Will be good to hear about your off road experience also.
tried wadi bashing once in Dubai, scary, the driver was a 40kg blonde who handled the prado and her prada like a pro!
Sharief, at least you were in a room! I was transiting after dropping off a sick patient, and spent time practising my Spanish with the hordes of Philipinos at the airport, all the while nursing a major case of conjunctivitis...some luck.
Best, and enjoy the madness
Axx

All IFG members are always welcome if ever in Dubai for a visit or in transit.
We have excellent shooting facilities here. In fact my club member Sheikh Ahmad has won a Gold Medal in Double Trap at Athens 2004.
The Jebel Ali Shooting Club has 6 ranges with Trap, Skeet and Sporting clays.
The Guns are Beretta Silver Pigeon, and we mostly use RWS, Rottweil, Noble or ELEY Black or RC4 championship cartridges. All tower machines are Laporite.
The club has a rock garden and is designed as an Arabic fort. There in also a bar and restaurant overlooking the ranges.
For non members, charges for 1 round of skeet or trap or sporting is Dhs. 80 ( Rs. 1,000 ) which includes 25 cartridges, use of Gun, ( Clays 25 to 30 ) and an assistant to pull your clays and shooting jacket.
These days I prefer shooting with a 20 Bore Browning O/U gun because it ihas a 28' barrel and is very close in weight and balance to my favourite field gun in India, my Army & Navy Imperial shotgun made by James Purdy.

Welcome Badshah. Let me know when you come to Dubai, I'll take you for some shooting. Besides Jebel Ali, if you want to shoot Handgun then there is GLOCK 9 mm or BRNO CZ .357 Mag as well for the same price ( Dhs. 80 ).
There is 25 shots of .22 LR with Walther rifles for Dhs. 40 at the Sharjah Shooting club.
Umm Al Quwain too has a shooting range for Rifle and Pistol and an outdoor range for Skeet.
Ras Al Khaimah, Nad Al Sheba ( Dubai ) and Abu Dhabi and Al AIn too have shooting clubs.
All Indoor ranges for rifle, .22LR and pistol are modern ranges, airconditioned and with club house and full amenities.
There is also a smoking room where you can smoke Cigars and thumb through shooting magazines.
