Glad to see that you guys are encouraging paragliding in your region! This is the closest one comes to flying like a bird!!!
Do share some info about your club and equipment costs involved for enthusiasts in the area.
Best,
Ram

Hi friends...
I am not a veteran, just a student.. Trying to develop this hobby... Have my own paraglider....but less time to attend to... My guru is Mr. Eric Menezes from Pune, a veteran paraglider in india and also a fixed wing glider instructor at gliding centre, Hadapsar, Pune. Flies and gives services in Bengaluru as well... will post more pictures at earliest. Yaar, ye threads catch karna aur dimaag me rakhna ki kaunse thread pear kya bola tha, is really a hard task...

Hi Ram......( reading these words is so funny...!),
Club is just an attempt . This sport is also like that of IFGiians hobby. Very expensive, Hard to find fraternity, need to be in touch with guys in metros, purposeful attempts needed, frustrating at the start, etc..etc.Have u guys ever tried archery ? Amravati is a good place with great infrastructure for that. The sport is very close to shooting. I tried for a month. We have HVPM here, Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal, a world renowned institute in physical education training.
Equipments are expensive. All imported. New Glider around 1-120 k, plus harness- 25k, GPS, Vario, Windmeter, etc.apart. Basic training of three days costing bet 10 to 15k.. I ventured into this for purely administrative reasons. I am very good in disaster management. While looking for some surveying techniques, i came across this. Am very good in Rehabilitation of project affected villages as well. These r my two areas of command. But as u see, experimenting is integral part of developmenatl administration....

Welcome Ajay,ajayplahane wrote:Hi friends....
what i am proud of is not of my arms, i issued and got issued by dm licenses to many of my near friends.. in our state, SDMs can issue crop protection licenses. Others by DM. This was enriching our fraternity....i have just entered into this hobby.. miles to go..but will catch up.
We are glad to have a fellow gun lover like you in the administration who supports our cause.
Look forward to more enriching experiences with you amongst us.

Ajay, I know exactly what you mean. I was feeling the same way when we started RC flying in Hyderabad in 2006 and everything had to be imported as nothing was available locally. Am glad to say that we are self sufficient now and encourage the hobby by making it easy for newbies to get started . BTW, we use an RC plane equipped with an autopilot and camera for aerial photography and surveying.
