Welcome to the forum.
Do post about this.BTW, Abhijeet, I was thinking about posting the method for getting the US hunting permit and CCW, and the legal clauses in 18 USC (loopholes, from the Democratic viewpoint) that allow non-immigrant Indians to be legal gun owners in the US.

Re: Hello
Welcome to IFG Shurjo (how do you pronounce that, is it Shur-hoe or Shur-Joe?),
I am waiting for my green card, but still a non-immigrant, and have gone through the same process as you, in getting my toys (hunting permit, etc.).
I got my first firearms when I was on an F-1 visa, I used to live in Massachusetts where they allow non-citizens to only own non large capacity rifles and shotguns. My first gun was a Ruger 10/22, following which I bought a Remington 870 (12 gauge pump) which still is my trap gun. I moved to New Hampshire last year, and NH doesn't prohibit law-abiding (clean background, etc.) non-citizens from possessing handguns. I have since, bought a Sig 220 DAK and a Rock River AR-15.
I saw the pictures you posted, that 1911 is sweet !!
Take care,
Naren

Re: Hello
Hey Naren,
Thanks, man. Nice to know I'm not the only Indian grad student gun nut on this forum.
Louisiana is pretty cool as far as the gun sale thing goes (as you probably know). The sad sthing is that those handguns have me broke till tax returns come again, so it's back to window shopping .
Lemme know if you're down south anytime, and we can go feed the backstops,
Talk to you later,
Shurjo
