New user here!
Hi Friends,
This is Siva from Chennai and found this site interesting as I'm thinking of adopting myself a Air-Rifle for target shooting. A little brief about my passions, I love photography (1st hobby but now it is on hibernation) and automobiles. Now found the target shooting very attractive sports (with all respect to the laws and safety issues it involves) and wishing to start learning the tricks.
I have found there is a brand called New Diana which is costing around Rs.2800 in Kovai sports, when test fired it was amazing as it could hit a cigarette bud from 50ft distance so accurately.
But after reading what all you have suggested for other IHP/National 35 .22 or .177, I'm reconsidering the same. I spoke to Mr.Pandian in Chennai and the quote was like Rs. 6000 where in the same from Aimco is Rs. 3800, is there any reason for such a step difference? In any case I found Mr.Pandian very friendly and like to deal with him.
I hope to interact more on this forum on the forthcoming days... Happy shooting guys
from this point onwards I'm taking Trammway avatar.

Hello Trammway,
Welcome to IFG! ...and welcome to the sport.
IHP/National is costlier because its the better of the lot. Our country men, more often than not, don't or don't want to accept that quality comes at a cost. Not everything can be available at a subsidized rate...
Think of the IHP as a modest investment. It'll generally be trouble free.
...and New Diana? That's original! What next? we already have Yemaha for Yamaha, Fendar for Fender, Givson for Gibson...etc....and that's talking about musical instruments only. Maybe we'll have Halkaar&Katoch for Heckler &Koch, or Sumeet&Hussain for Smith&Wesson....
Have fun here.
regards,
cc

Hello Siva,
Go for a M300 from Aimco , I am buying one myself, better than a break barrel, doesn't suffer as much from a wavering zero!
Happy Shooting Dude!

Re: New user here!
Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. I'm sure understood most of the safety instructions as you all pressed all over the forum and will stand by following them on all the time.
Now some answers:
@cottage cheese, I'm very much concerned about the quality, my questions is that if Aimco can give IHP/National for Rs.3800 why other armoury in the country offers the same spec/brand guns for higher rates ? Is there any governing norms such as MRP tag in other products we buy for daily use.
@kanwar76 aka Inder, Yes it is me dude. Good to see you here too.
@Santhosh, I'm now getting some hope, finding a person with similar interest on the same geographical location is always a welcome factor. I wish to meet you sometimes, lets setup a personal shooting range.
@Doc, You too here ? I'm glad you guide me all the places. You are awesome. I hope your wishes come true and I keep good variety of them and improve upon my skills. Hopefully few good target shooting competition medals .
I forgot to tell you the Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 will soon land in your garage space allocated for me. He He he...
