Hi All,

I am Sameer from Mumbai, Maharashtra. 30 years old - extremely fond of guns, but unfortunately I dont have any except for a few air guns which I have been collecting since childhood.

Now I wanna get myself a license (like thats gonna be easy !) and then maybe start off with an IOF .22 revolver or maybe a cheap import.

I also have an old ROHM blank firing gun (starter gun)

Any help on licensing issues in Mumbai, any ideas how to definitely get it.

Thanks.

Sameer

Hello Sameer,
Welcome! The entire rank and file gun enthusiasts in India start with airguns (unless blessed with firearms in the family) then graduate to firearms. Being a member of a Shooting Club will definitely help, also it may point you in the direction of picking up some useful shooting skills at the Worli or Veer Savarkar Shooting Range through your club. Visit the VSSR at Shivaji Park, you will benefit immensely.
Regards

Welcome aboard Sameer, hope you enjoy your stay here :)

Cheers!

P.S. - In India, unfortunately there is no such thing as a "cheap import" when one is talking about guns :banghead:

Hi Sameer,
Welcome to IFG airguns are how one starts and then bigger guns.Hope you have fun.If you have any connections then use them now to get your license or just go and apply you should be able to get it in due course if you have not had any problems with the police and have good neighbors.
