just joined

Post by tarzanboy73 » Wed May 27, 2009 10:11 am

Hello Guys,

Have just joined this forum.Seems to be a very interesting place. I am a serving officer in the armed forces and totally agree with the basic concept of Indians for guns....I have fired nearly every weapon in our inventory, and own a couple of air pistols/ rifles. shall be applying for an arms li shortly to enable me to continue my passion for shooting when i retire.

i recently came upon a web site 20north.com, where in the sporting section, they have a variety of air guns which can be purchased....both co2 and pump action ones...i was going through the forum and saw the prices here in India and compared to that the ones on the net seem very cheap...they are willing to ship everything except co 2 cartridges....could someone check it out ...and tell me if there is any catch.

regards

tarzan

tarzan:

Glad to have you aboard and have another firearms aficionado join the merry band here. Do you have a direction you'll pursue when you get your license? Are you looking to get something similar to what you are exposed to in the service, or do you want to take a completely different tack in you shooting experience?

Welcome!

Welcome to IFG Tarzanboy. Does that nick have anything to do with the song of the same name by 'Baltimora' :D ? As for 20North, I'd rather wait till they have established some credibility.

no, wont be possible to shoot what we can in the service...all PB. i am thinking more in terms of a shotgun, and a pistol / revolver for myself....post 26/ 11...i think all citizens (responsible ones!!!) should own firearms....and maybe quality air guns for the kids for comp shooting if they are interested!!

cheers

Tarzan

Why dont you apply for guns from army ordnance I cant recall the name of this process but you could land a very cheap guns or handgun. Maybe you already applied for them.
For airguns its best to have them couriered by parcel or a relative.
Best

Hi Tarzan,
Welcome to the forum, hope you will have nice time here. Well it is better to import air guns from reputed suppliers, who have shipped to India previously. You can get these details from the post " Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route" here : - http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1003 in the forum.
Thanks and what make of air guns n pistols do you own?
Srinivas.

Serving officers are priority one for issue of NSP weapons from the army ordnance. you could get a great revolver/pistol for a mear Rs. 100 or so... However you will not be able to sell or gift this gun to any body.. (this rule is made so that you dont start a new business after retiring from the army.).

you should apply ASAP and then wait and wait and wait and wait.. in most cases your number will come after you retire..

Best of luck..
