Hi All, I recently moved back from USA to New Delhi, India after a while there. I used to shoot here at a small range on Ridge Road when I lived in Delhi. Anyone know what happened to that range?
Great website, good to see that shooting has some made some progress from the dark ages when I used to shoot here. Looks like even our government is finally helping the sport now that we have a Olympic gold to our credit!
Does anyone know of a 50 meter range around Delhi. I have my own rifle etc. just need a place to shoot. Looks like the Dr. Karni Singh Range is shutdown for the 6+ months for Commonwealth renovations.
Thanks.
Rifle range around Delhi?

The range at ridge road still exists, I believe it's only accessible to the Army now. You could check out the same, as I haven't been to that place in eons.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we've just hit the feudal age when it comes to progress on guns and RKBA. And the powers that be still dont do jack shit for the sport.
But what the heck, we still have this forum and lots of like minded folks . Welcome to IFG, glad to have you on-board.

The renovations at Dr. Karni Singh may actually take a lot longer than 6 months. One of my friends at DUAC was on the committee which approved the proposed redevelopment and it seems that the proposal for the new & improved range is quite ambitious; there is even a 300m big bore range in the offing, though that will probably only be built after the conclusion of the Commonwealth games in 2010. All other ranges (except for the clays ranges) are to be air-conditioned and 100% of lanes will have electronic target systems etc.
Meanwhile the only range open to civilians (in Delhi) would be the 10m (airguns only) range at the DDA Shri Fort Sports Complex.
Cheers!
Abhijeet
