From Malda, West Bengal!

Hi,
I am a new member from Malda - West Bengal.
My name is Snahashis Das, I'm 28 years old and by profesion a Software Engineer working in Bangalore, Karnataka.
I'm trying to get a new firearm license for the purpose of "Personal-protection/Self-defense" with a 7.62x25mm caliber permit for a handgun in West Bengal.

I would like to get your valuable advices and guidance on Do's and Don'ts for a new applicant like me so that my application process goes smooth, increasing the likelihood of approval.
I just got my PVC/PCC, and next, I'll be submitting my application forms with the all the necessary documents but got some doubts that's why any sugestions or help from anyone will be highly appreciated.

The thing is that I have gathered all documents except "Firearm safety & training certificate".
Is that really necessary? Because No steps from The Central Government is taken so far regarding it.
Below are the required documents, I'm told to carry with me:

[1] FIR Coppy
[2] Avidavit(Explaining A Lawful Reasons for License)
[3] Police Clearance Certificate(PCC/PVC)
[4] Character reference letters from 2 neighbours
[5] Form S-3(Medical certificate from a recognized MBBS doctor about mental & physical fitness, explicitely mentioning that "This person is not dependant on any intoxicating or narcotic substances" )
[6] Form S-1(Firearm safety & basic handling certification)
[7] ITR of last 3 years
[8] Electricity bill
[9] Water bill or water tax certificate
[10] 10th - 12th certificate and Bachelor's certificate
[11] Character certificate/NOC from current company
[12] Birth Certificate
[13] Domicile certificate(Parmanent Address proof)
[14] Ration card
[15] PAN card
[16] Aadhar card
[17] Driving License
[18] Voter ID
[19] Income proof/(Last 1 year's all payslips)
[20] Proof of current address
[21] 4 copy passport size photo

From where you get form S-1, Firearm safety & basic handling certificate...?

Welcome aboard. Doubt if that many documents are required. I did not have to submit all the documents you have mentioned when I had applied for my license. But better to be prepared and give the authorities what they ask for. All the best.
