Shooter ,By profession
Hi all
Feels good to be a part of a community that is so close to my heart..shooting.
As a kid, my toys profile used to be guns, guns and guns,,only exception, a wooden catapult, given to me by a local from my maternal uncle's place near Dudhwa national Park..
I have always had a passion for guns, though the only ones I could fire before coming to my present profession was air rifles and one off 12 bore Holland & Holland, whose one barrel is damaged now.
Anyways, had a chance to fire an imported air rifle during 10 m air rifle trials some time back..score was decent but stiff competition. So I've decided to take up shooting as a hobby again, other than the service weapons.. (my faithful catapult is always there though).about to get my license for a rifle anytime now..
Waiting to grab a .22 single shot n side by side, planned to buy a Winchester 1100WS airrifle..hoping for the best.
looking ahead to a healthy and mature interaction with the experienced ol' timers and josh type hardcore shooters.
regards
Bhupender aka Alameinite

Welcome aboard Alameinite and hope you enjoy your stay here!
Incidentally, both good choices - single shot 22's are still relatively affordable and IMHO for most tasks single shots do just fine. I'd suggest you skip the Chinese made Winchester air-rifle for something a little better, but then that's just my opinion.
As to the H&H with one bad barrel, you can contact the company in London and send it to them for repairs. It will take paperwork/ hassle and cost some serious money for the repairs, but the gun will come back to you as good as new - I'd say it would be well worth it and in your place I'd not even think twice about doing it.
Cheers!

P.S. - We are somewhat old fashioned here - in the sense that none of us appreciate (most don't even understand) SMS slang/ textspeak, so would be great if you would be nice enough to type out your posts in proper English

Thanks a ton Mundaire, Bennedose and Poccur. And Mundaire, about the language, will definitely take care. Actually too much texting at times takes a toll on our language. Regards

Welcome aboard. When thinking about airguns, have a look at the Weihrauch, Airarms and Daystate range.
