Hi Friends,
I am a middle aged professional working in a private company in the field of developing small IC engines.
I was drawn to guns some 30 years ago when I was selected by our NCC wing to represent Goa in rifle shooting in an All India camp.
To help me practice, my dad had got me an air gun then - a 0.22 cal springer, a smoothbore, a brand I do not recollect.
It was reasonably accurate & I had many years of fun plinking & shooting at targets.
I left home for studies, professional career & never shot guns again
I stumbled upon Pyramid Air website recently while searching for something else on the net and got drawn into the world of air rifles again.
I also came across this nice site, IFG, when reading about Indian made air rifles.
On an impulse, I went to a gun dealer, picked up the IHP 35 and held it to my eye.
I was pleased with the clear sight picture presented by the open sights.
The overall balance of the rifle and dimensions seemed to fit me well.
So bought the 0.22 cal instead of 0.177 due to nostalgia more than anything else.
Started shooting standing, using a 10m air pistol target at 10m.
Loved the feel/sound of the gun, surprised at the sensitivity of the hold, trying to cope up with the little but sharp recoil and learning to follow through.
Will graduate to using rifle targets as the rifle breaks in, as my hold becomes steadier and after I have tried out various pellets.
So that's it - an impulsive member in your midst.
Hoping to soak up a lot of the knowledge that's here
Cheers,
Vishwanath
