Hey Maxpower, I heard shooting crows is the only big game hunting activity allowed in Singapore. How does one book a crow hunting safari to S'pore? Is one allowed to take back the trophy legally? I guess they have some kind of notified areas to indulge in this sport.Just kidding. I believe the Sing guv doen't tolerate the presence of crows in the city state and is trying to eradicate them to protect the native exotic bird population, right? What I wanted to learn is that how do they plan to achieve this.

i've heard similar comments from a no. of people ... except my experience has been the opposite ... so i've dealt solely with CWS over the years ...
guess it goes both ways ...

actually the powers that be have decided that a crow is a nuisance & has no real positive advantages in being around ... so ... crows are "illegal" ... hehehe ...
we have a crow culling gang that goes around popping them ... & anyone can join provided that he can prove his expertise in trap/skeet ... really to prevent the shooter missing the crow & bagging something else that's allowed to hang around ...
here's the real contradiction ... in a country where guns are an extremely sensitive topic, you can waltz down pretty much any part of singapore & discharge your weapon in public ... legally !!! this is probably illegal in all other countries where gun control laws are extremely liberal ...

hi abhijeet,mundaire";p="15524 wrote:Do these two shops stock air-rifles/ air-pistols also? Do you know if they ship to India? I ask, as many members here are interested in ordering air-guns from overseas, but so far have been restricted to US/ UK based suppliers - whose shipping costs are quite high, to put it mildly.
spoke to CWS ... they say that airlines here will not take a weapon on board without the requisite paperwork for export from here & more importantly, import into india. shipping it is not a problem.
if as is the case, an individual does not require an import permit for air weapons, these guys require some documentation to show this to be the case. then they will happily ship anywhere.
costing will depend upon weapon --- different for pistols & rifles.
hope this helps.
cheers.
