Hi Ron, Welcome to IFG.
Please post a brief Introduction about yourself, in Introduction section and NOT in the Legal Section.
its good that you are passionate about shooting, but first decide what kind of shooting you are interested, not all event required you to have a gun license (Unless you are in trap shooting or 50M or Some Pistol Event ). The easiest way to start is 10M Air Rifle and Air Pistol event and you Dont require any License for that. Just find a local club. be a member there and you are all set for shooting. You can initially borrow the club rifle/pistol and other gear for practice and later you can have your own equipment as you start improving in your event. Unless you perticipate some of the competition or have a very strong financial or political background its still pretty hard for a newbie to get Gun License in India. I am not very much aware about the current situation in india or about the area where you live. May be some other members can enlighten you more on this.
Hope this helps. and one more humble request, PLEASE donot use SMS lingo here , we generally dont appreciate that in this forum.
Welcome again in IFG , and hope you will enjoy your stay here like all of us.

You do not need to join a rifle club for the sake of getting an arms license, it is your legal right. Corollary to Right to Life is Right to Private/Self Defense as allowed by Sections 96 to 106 IPC. Self defense is a fundamental right guaranteed under Article 21 of Constitution, and applying for Arms license for self defense is a legal right. I would request you to carefully & completely read a recent important judgment by Hon'ble High Court, AP at http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic ... 7&start=15Ron2793 wrote:can anyone pls suggest me wht is the easiest way to get licence for gun..and if i join any rifel club than wht kind of gun i will get for target shooting ..and how long does it take to get licence after joining rifel club...
A notification has been issued by MHA, some states have started following, some have not started. There is no clarity how this is going to be done. One thing is sure, MHA wants to ultimately disarm all law abiding citizens in a slow & creeping manner by bringing more restrictions every year. Instead I would request you to help strengthen NAGRI by joining it to fight against these kind of senseless and degrading/insulting rules that make us to be treated like criminals.brar wrote:Hi gun gurus
