F-16 & C130

Post by art_collector » Wed Sep 16, 2009 9:48 am

A C-130 was lumbering along when a cocky F-16 flashed by.
The jet jockey decided to show off.
Image
The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, 'watch this!' and promptly went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb. He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier. The F-16 pilot asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that?

Image
The C-130 pilot said, 'That was impressive, but watch this!'

The C-130 droned along for about 5 minutes and then the C-130 pilot came back on and said: 'What did you think of that?' Puzzled, the F-16 pilot asked, 'What the heck did you do?' The C-130 pilot chuckled. 'I stood up, stretched my legs, walked to the back, went to the bathroom, then got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon bun.'
When you are young - speed & flash may seem a good thing !!!
When you get older & smarter - comfort & dull is not such a bad thing !!!

MSFS2004 mostly. Find it lighter and more flexible than FSX

Ah ok. I did combat flight simulators for years. CFS 1, 2, 3 and IL2 Sturmovik all the way to IL2 Sturmovik-1946

Found MS-CFS series pretty lame...after all the hype... almost Arcadish.

Sturmovik and Aces High2 are the way to go for me... Liked WB series too...

But oddly, I enjoy just simple old flying through 'familiar' country side closeer to home on MSFS... navigation is fun and immersive....

Cheers

CC, Yes the CFS series was kinda arcadeish but it was the best there was till IL2 came out.

Here is a video I'd like to share. It is from an inter squad match that my squadron (TFC) flew against another (VF29) squad. In the first match we flew on the German side in ME-109's and in the second match we flew the Russian side in Mig's. The object of the mission was for the Germans to sink the Marat (a Russian Battleship) and to defend it if you were on the Russian side. It was a lot of fun flying online in a squadron with people from all over the world.

I'm flying as TFC_Target. Now you can see where my nickname came from.

Fascinating - You guys are actually in the stratosphere of flight-siming - as for me 'm more of a sedate point to point FSFS wallah...dunno why but puttering about in a straight line from a familiar airport to another is damn fun for me...a lot of the time... any combat-simming is invariably on a Spit MkVB or Bf 109G6 against AI bots...never really strapped on to online fire and brimstone :)
