Help sought in "deadly Weapons" use training

Post by Sujay » Wed Oct 12, 2011 1:07 pm

This is an appeal to fellow IFGIAN's.

The force of metropolitan police has purchased some "deadly Weapons" with firing range of 6800 Meters ( 6.8 kms) but are not finding anybody in India to train them ( the police force) to use the said weapon.

If somebody can provide any clue/ help, it would be appreciated.

It is better the citizens arm themselves rather than depending on these jokers. If one reads this link http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8013 forget about them using "deadly weapons", it appears they even faint if they have to stand under the sun for sometime.

Well, people who use AKs and INSASs (instead of H&Ks and Uzis) for airport security can use a Barrett for urban combat! Fortunately they have not bought tanks!

And why is "training" required? Go to the Thar desert, 7 KM from the nearest habitation, faint, set up a target, faint, shoot, faint, shoot, come back to Mumbai and go about in "Commando" tracksuits and black bandannas!
Cheers!

They should not get training to use these weapons as they would end up killing innocent ppl on the other side, crazy ppl buying long distance/sniper rifle for urban policing.
These ppl are crazy they need training on the ballistics, rather they need to learn english and understand it so that they read the specification of the guns and then decide if its suitable for buying or not.
But i guss we are missing the whole point here, buy what cant be used but brings enough commission into there pockets and looks damn good on paper and picture and they can boast on the size and power, after all that is what they understand only.
:deadhorse:

They should be handed over to NSG or Spl Forces

Wrong. The effective range is only 1800 meters and not 6800 meters. I wonder who has the facts wrong: the press or the police

be it guns, fighter jets, tanks the press always has their facts dead wrong.

and whats up with mumbai police and as a matter of fact all police forces in india - ordering MP-5's in huge number's,mizo police ordering the sako TRG in .338 lapua a caliber not even used by the SF and now here we have mumbai police using .50 cal in a place like bombay.whats even worse these guys dont clean the weapon regularly, neither practice enough on even static targets on a range.

even SF afaik is using denel, gepard lynx in .50 cal and the sniper training in military is something i doubt the police will be able to handle.

you can get the best in the world,it all matters how motivated you are to push yourself and be ready to learn, train hard in the correct manner.

25 years back 3 indian navy officers proved it right when they were sent to US to train with the NAVY SEAL's and set up similar infrastructure here and we all know this led to our world famous MARCOS.

i doubt the police can do this, though the germans got it right with their GSG-9

Friends,
dont u think the police is also victim of No Political Will, and babus.
Rajat, definetly the range of this rifle is misquoted by the media. The one who ordered for this rifle has to be a senior IPS officers not beat constables. And we all know what is happening with upright and honest IPS officers some examples... Y. P. Singh (Mumbai Cader), Kiran Bedi (Delhi Cader), one Mr. Bhutt from Gujrat don't know much about him , actually the list is endless.
And after reading the report it seems to me that they have only one Rifle of this cal. and make so whats wrong in that. Dont American forces us this cal. in urban combat there are hundreds of video to suggest that.
As far shooting this rifle or using it for trainning goes, if someone from mumbai would ,must be knowing there is no long range shooting range for mumbai police available right now.
There was one called as" GOLIBAR RANGE" where they use to fire there SLR and 303 and other long range weapon. But now the back drop hills have come up with lots of residencial properties and during last few year there were some complaint about police bullets landing in there property. So as far as my knowledge it is not in full use.
Friends it is very easy to blame the police but try to understand , they are bounded by NETAS and BABUS.
in todays Mumbai mirror news paper (mumbai edition) there is an article, the elite NSG is struggling for electricity.
And why we forget the police man who caught 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab and died during the operation was equiped with only a lathi.
The Sub . Inspector who shot Ajmal's partner in that action was just equiped with I think a 9mm pistol.

So friends its not the police who is at fault, it is very fair for them to have most advance weaponery, the Govrnment and babus has to decide how to give them best facilities.
Regards.

Ps. Friends try to understand the core matter than the spelling mistakes and punctuation.

Regardless of what the police might or might not have told them, an honest, hardworking, professional member of the press is supposed to independently verify his/her facts. When you come across misquoted statistics or unverified facts, you know you have a lazy, unscrupulous, news person who doesn't really care for his or her profession.
