Revolver gets locked after each fire!

I have a Webley & Scott Mark IV .32 bore Revolver which has got a safety lock(as you can see in the snap). I acquired it a few months back and yesterday I used it for the first time. I shot 4 rounds and after each shot, the revolver got locked and I had to unlock it manually. Is it a problem or it is a feature of the revolver??

Locked in what way? The cylinder binds? The safety gets engaged?......????
It is not a feature of any revolver

The "lock"/"safety" is an after market affair probably installed by a gunsmith locally possibly many years ago. The revolver here does not come from the factory with this type of "safety". Some Webley's did come with safeties but not this kind to my knowledge.
This sliding switch has a small "tensioner" which may have worn out which is probably reengaging due to recoil

This can be replaced or possibly repaired. The "safety" must NOT automatically re-engage each time! Talk to your friendly neighbourhood dealer/gunsmith!
I had a Ruby Extra .32" Spanish Revolver at one time which had the same "safety". Was a piece of junk.

Anand

punitjalan,
This is the usual safety lock in the Webley Mk IV , "B" series revolver.
I see that the "to and fro" sliding lock on your revolver is on the right side, than means unless you are left handed , operating it would be rather awkward.
Is it possible for you to upload more pictures showing stamping and proof marks too ?

Darra Adam Khel, a place in Pakistan's NW Frontier Province that is home to small arms manufacture. Knock-offs of all kinds of small arms. Can be quite good, but usually not. Cheers.

Punitjalan,
If this is a original Webley, should will find a screw on the frame directly beneath the hammer. This is when you look at the revolver pointing away from you. That screw controls the safety cross bolt. Try tightening or loosening it.

It's probably the web of your thumb and trigger finger that is causing the revolver to lock up in recoil. Have a stronger lock retaining spring installed and check out. IMHO, the cross bolt type of locks are more fool proof then this one.
