Posted: Fri Mar 06, 2009 3:04 am
Hi,
This is a continuation work on my air pistol after it was broken. I have already posted the steps taken for repairing the stock. It can be found in IFG Gun Care & Gunsmithing section. The link is given below.
FIXING IHP NATIONAL 0.177 AIR PISTOL STOCK : http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5907
Let me thank my fellow IFG member MO for providing the following articles and inspiring me to do the work myself.
1. How to: Painting your Rifle Stock - Picture Heavy : http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5022
2. Custom Painted Diana 52 : http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 67&start=0
The steps followed by me are similar to that as mentioned in the above threads.I am not saying that the work i did is as good as what MO had done, but the end result is more than gratifying. It is actually a very simple D.I.Y. project. Please take all necessary SAFETY PRECAUTIONS before you try it .
I used NIPPON MATT BLACK Aerosol paint, which cost me INR 150.
I couldn't get my hands on BOSNY AEROSOL as it was currently unavailable then. I got BOSNY BLACK FLAT Clear coat for INR 200.
There is nothing much detailed explanations to give. I am posting the pictures taken during the paint job. I don't have a proper camera and this was taken with my N3230. I regret the picture quality.
After the first coat
No pictures were taken in between the first and the final coating. These pictures were taken at night a couple of days after the clear coat was applied.
Any questions, comments or suggestions are at most welcome.
