Indians For Guns

Hey guys,

i am doing a project where i need to join 2 pcs of cold blue steel(not on a gun)....i can weld it, but info from the net suggest that tin soldering will be a better option...is that correct...Whats a good combination solder wire for tin soldering.....

Choose something close to 60/40 lead/tin.

A 63/37 solder will have the lowest melting point if heat is an issue.

Remember to use a good flux and clean it well beforehand. Take a bar of talc and rub it where you do not want the solder to stick.

And remember to heat the steel you want to join until it melts the solder. "Tin" both pieces of steel, by heating them and wiping on the solder, then clamp the pieces together and heat them again until the solder flows, tighten and let cool. Good luck, soldering steel can be a bit tricky.
