Leather seal is good and it last very long. However, I found lots air leakage occurs.
This is what I did to change the seal.
1. Remove the existing seal by using pencil knife.
2. Keep a white paper on it and rub with an pencil to get the impression.
3. Go to an automobile shop and buy an "O" ring, Cost Rs.2
4. Keep the seal on the barrel and use sand paper to reduce as per your requirement. I used hand small hand drill machine to do that.
5. Apply quickfix or smiler adhesive to fix.
Hope this will help you. I found sound of my gun has been reduced a lot!

Re: Replacing Barrel Seal
My ihp air pistol is lubed every two weeks, on last week's maintainance, i happen to see that a small amount of oil gets blown off in between the barrel and the receiver........evidently, there is a leak, the barrel seal is a little scratched near its top portion............the amazing thing is that i DON'T FEEL ANY LOSS OF POWER in my pistol(may be it was there from the beginning & i didn't notice it!).........any way my question is
1. whether i should do as you have shown here?
2. should i consult a gunsmith who is destined to make my pocket empty?
3. should i leave it as it is?(if i do so, whether it will have any adverse effect on any of the other parts of the pistol?)
Any way, nice work here!...............
