Scope for airguns and other rifles

There have been many discussions that I have gone through, regarding scopes for spring powered air guns/ rifles. What I learned here is that there is a creep in the scope mounted on airguns due to the jerk/ recoil of the spring.
Now my confusion is that since the rifles even as small as the .22 has a greater recoil than the airguns then why the fuss about choosing/mounting a proper scope for air guns only.
Or maybe I have got it all wrong.
I would really appreciate a feedback on this issue.

Hi aadhaulya, I had this doubt too. When searched online, I read that the air guns (especially springers) have a recoil motion that is different from firearms and that is why they need specifically rated scopes. Below is an article that I came across..

Springers and nitro pistons have got two directional recoil - both forward and backward due to the spring relaxation cycle.
This will cause the AR to have a bidirectional motion unlike the fire arms.
Despite a .22LR has more recoil than a magnum springer, its just unidirectional - backwards.
Its this bidirectional recoil that spoils cheap and non-springer rated scopes.
Springer rated scopes will have dual compensation to adjust the forward and backward motion of the AR and settle down the scope internals without damage.
Hope this helps.

From what I have read, both are nice guns for competition shooting..
