Indians For Guns

Guys I want to be a gunsmith in future. Is there any organization which teaches it in Assam?
What education is needed for it and is it a good career.
I'm from middle class family so it would be good if you mention the cost of the study.

What is a gun Priyan? Just another machine right? So you need to learn something that helps you develop, create mechanical parts. Say..CAD, Turning, milling, heat treatment, woodwork etc. etc..

So there's no course as gunsmithing right? One will have to learn it themselves.

Abroad there are schools for it. Traditionally you would apprentice to a master to learn the trade. If you can learn all the things Suffix suggested, you'd have a good start. Good luck!

There is No any institute in India , to give you training of gunsmith , but it is true if you wants to be gunsmith ,you have good knowledge of woodworking, machinist, fitter & also know to handle lathe & milling machines .

Best bet is to become an apprentice under an experienced gunsmith at one of the more 'guns' prolific states/cities for at least 10 years.

Thanks for your valuable information guys. I think I'll study blacksmith or fitting in Prince of Wales after completing class 12. BTW one nice guy from Tinsukia is promising me to teach after i complete Prince Of Wales.

see if you can get an apprentiship in europe, possibly on a grant or so, if you can do this, then in 6-8 years you can rule india when returning, well at least in the gun business

eventually even india will move into the light and move on from there, remember if he actually is abel to make guns by himself, even if he is employed by one of the hackshops he can still make guns that will appriciate in value as the current guns are substandard to say the least.

It is possible to become a reasonably competent gunsmith in India. Three of the best I know are, not in any particular order, Moa (Cottage Cheese here), Marcus Campos in Hyderabad, Bobby Sidhu in Patiala and Zubin from Pune. Bobby is said to have CNC machinery. He is an engineer to boot. All of them struck out on their own and made a name for themselves. It is possible but not as easy as it is in the West. You can try contacting these gentlemen.
