Hello boys
There has always been a lot of confusion regarding lubricating oils on all the air gun forums and this mainly stems from BB’s post about pellgun oil
Below is the link to the post that he subsequently made regarding oils and greases used for various air guns
http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2007/10/ ... osman.html
Now where does this leave us , Directly in the hands of unscrupulous people selling the emperors new clothes
These are the Indian equivalents of the oils given above .
Silicone oil ATF 4 ( that is automatic transmission fluid with o ring protective
dexron technology ) Cost 160/- per liter any petrol pump
PCP grease Synthetic silicone grease Sony VCR grease available at any electronic spares shop 20 inr for 10 gms OR Du Pont Silicone grease at 600 INR /KG at any good bearing and mill store,
Pellgun oil Any good red multigrade engine oil sae 40
I still always put some of the non combustible oil to test by trying to light it with a blue torch
So no more paying 1200 for 12 gms of snake oil
Cheers
