Short Explanation : No, It cannot be done.
Long Explanation : Why ? There are many properties to a spring. The most important being the steel and other metals/additives used. For example the best springs made for air rifles use the same steel as that used in making springs for formula 1 cars.
Secondly, Very, Very few people in this country would have knowledge on making good springs for air rifles in our country. Even fewer will waste their time, money and resources on catering to a tiny specialised market as ours.
This does not include some fraudsters who will rip and fleece genuine shooting enthusiasts of their money by selling counterfeit and substandard products claiming to be original international brands. The Indian mentality of accepting sub standard duplicate items encourages such dubious parties and individuals.
So if you want a good spring for an air rifle, save the trouble, spend a few bucks and look to the west for getting the springs.....

Agreed that 'phoren' springs are usually better, but then would it not be cheaper and better if similar springs which are duplicated in India are used by guys in India instead ? Just give an impetus to local economy in these days of stagflagnation. Not to hijack this thread, but I am seriously thinking of going for Kolkatta-based SDB as my second (or rather third) air rifle, rather than ordering one from Pyramid Air. What say ? Awaiting my wife to get in real great mood so could "con"vince her.

Suffix,
Appreciate your effort to help your Indian friend.
Sitting in the US, you post here on his behalf, getting the OD of a spring guide of an Indian made air rifle and are willing to send him a foreign made spring for the IHP by consulting members of IFG.
Why don't you invite your friend here at IFG so he can benefit directly from the knowledge here....
Here in India we are not a large community, IFG is a very open and welcoming forum which welcomes participation from all shooting enthusiasts. Please request him to join IFG.

Is there any springs as such that duplicated in India? Are they good enough to challenge a foreign made one?
I shall be glad if you can give me a lead!

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.
