Steel Wool for cleaning pistols ?

hi,
I came across a few videos wherein steel wool was used for cleaning pistols. i ordered the same from amazon &it works like a charm. Has anyone used the same? and any suggestions for further use?

Are you using it for removing rust spots only or general cleaning, including inside the barrel?

In my humble opinion, Steel wool No."00 00" is best for over all use as it removes surface rust with right lubricant without harming the original bluing. Can also be used to remove lead fouling from shotgun barrels and other lead bullet firing fire arms. "0000" steel wool unfortunately is not available in our local markets and hence we have to order it on Amazon or other similar sites..

Yes it's a Fantastic medium to light polish surfaces, remove grease and clean mild rust.

I use it also for my parallel hobby of RC hobby grade Buggy maintenance too, specifically to clean up chassis and shocks of grit and dirt after an off drive.

Yes it can be used for cleaning pistols too.
