Hi guys,

Just last month I got my self a nice .22lr brno2e as my fourth firearm. I have a friend coming back from Spain next weekend. I need suggestions on what scope to ask for. I do not have much of an idea so any help from members greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Catfish Congrats! Where did you lay your hands on the brno and for how much? Post some pics please. I have a Bushnell 3-9 X 40 on my IOF 0.22 and no problems. Gurus know better....hh

Congrets Catfish,
My Brno Model 2 has 4x Leupold Compact 1" dia. sitting on a Weaver type Medium mounts and Rings since the last two decades and I must say I am more then happy with this combination. It looks pretty much in proportion with the the sleek Brno action. Variables according to me do not serve any practical purpose on a short range rifle like a 22lr. Just an opinion.

hi,
congrats for your new weapon.!!!!!
check out above mentioned site and search for rimfire scopes.you will get a bushnel 3-9X40.it suits the .22lr best.
if you want to go for a costly one,go for tasco or nikon...

Thanks guys,

Firstly the site on selection of rifle scopes was very useful, thanks. Looks like the 3-9x40 seems to be more poular. so have to decide on the make. if you pay peanuts you end up with monkeys, so will go for one of the top makes and hope my friend can find it. I got the rifle in bangalore and will try and take a photo of it today and post it. It stoots really well. It lives up to its reputation for accuracy.
By the way does the lenght of the scope need to be taken into account?

Thanks again

Any scope can go on a .22. Choice depends on your budget, needs and preferences.

You will need 15mm mounts for this. I have one on sale in the sale section. Let me know if interested.

Nice find Catfish, I was using a bushnell sportsview 3x9-32 on my marlin...i am not too thrilled with it I don't know why. But I think a nice fixed view say a 4X by 20 or so by a good scope maker...like a leupold should be a great match. If you can pay for it go for the best believe me I have done the cheapie thing for too long. If you can find a Japanese scope like a Nikon even that may be good. I used to adore one 4X20 scope I had named Ednar. That was the best I have used so far.
