What power scope ?

What power scope would be ideal for long range air gun shooting or HFT ? 24x or more ?
I'd say higher magnification would cause vignetting or darkening even if the Objective is 56 mm or the tube is 30mm ?
What say you ?
Thanks

A 10X40/42 for is more than adequate for HFT.
A fixed power scope is generally preferred as you can predict the pellets trajectory /POI at various distances. Not that this is impossible in variable power scopes.
Going for a larger objective does not necessarily put you at an advantage unless you intend to shoot extensively at night.
As for Vignetting, none of the quality scopes exhibit this behavior excessively in stock configuration. All scopes will have some degree of vignetting and addition of aftermarket sunshades may aggravate this. So will the length of the barrel.
I haven't tried many scopes. But I'm into photography and know my lens. So your worry about vignetting is unfounded.

Thanks Tirtha
It certainly gives me a very clear idea.
- 24x, 32x and 50x power
- Bushnell is the most preferred
Better start saving from now....
