My view is the type of pellets that can give you teh best groupings are the ones that you should get, different barrels guns like different types, i had purchased about 5-6 types of pellets, 100 each, and done extensive testing to determine what would give me better groupings, i tested at both 10 m and 20 m.
I found the best grouping was from ribbed wadcutters in my IHP mod 35b .22, followed by smooth wadcutters.
cheers,
rishu

The best grouping and thus most preferred target pellets ( match pellets ) these days are flat head wadcutters with a diablo skirt.
The pellets with fins are more for long range filed use. Although here too the design is fast changing to smooth. One of the leading pellets in the category H & N Field Target Trophy or Diana Rasstat are smooth pellets.
A pellet that will group well from a particular air rifle must be one that fits tight into the breech chamber, and then must be suitable in weight to the power of that particula r air rifle.
Mack The Knife Bana who does this kind of stuff everyday might be able to write a few more aspects on this. He regularly uses match grade pellets.

master shot round heads are a match made in heaven for most IHP air rifles.
the gsmith .22s are a bit heavy for them.

Yes JSB pellets may be available but it doesn't mean that they will shoot well in the IHP 35.
I bought a pack from only pellets during the GVM. The guy selling them seemed really nice .
