Smokeless powder availablity & Suppliers in India?

Well as the title says what smokeless powders are available in India & who are the suppliers? Does anyone have any idea?

As per rules, gun shops in India can purchase and sell reloading material to individual license holders. The quantity of reloading material should not exceed the ammo limit mentioned in buyer's license.
But the problem is that in India, we don't have USA like gun culture where reloading ammo is quite common. Also most people in India have yearly limit of twenty five cartridges, at some places it's even ten cartridges per year.
Therefore no gun shop in India import or sell reloading material.

What about local manufacturers and suppliers? I mean someone has to supply to IOF & others?

What I know is that no one sells smokeless powder to individual license holders in India.

Then without license it will be illegal to buy and sell..... also smokeless powder can prove deadly if you fiddle with it without having complete knowledge.

Good question.
If you are looking for industrial quantities, you may be allowed to import, I guess. Seeing that the CMT chappie s are rumoured to be making ammo too besides the Glocks.

i could do that, but it will severely cut down the profits & will increase paperwork, waiting period & other headaches.

Depending on your calibers offered,a Dillon Reloader press like an XL 650 or 750, and cases,primers may be essential. A100kg of mixed pistol and rifle powders may be a good starting point. I dont know what kind of QC or profits you are looking at, but you better have an idea of ammo prep

I come to know that Purchasing and store gun powder in higher qty required a lot of paper work. I am not sure it's true or not but One person inform that keeping gun powder as store material also require explosive license, clearance from fire dept. And other lots of unnecessary trouble which is not viable against the profit they get from selling the gun powder so most of the dealers avoid to sale this.
May be senior members have a detail idea on it.

Gun shops can keep and sell gun powder and P. caps. Separate permission is not required.
