Three cheers for the Air Conditioner!
However, I would like to know who manufactures these kits and what is contained within each kit. Also, what does this 3-In-1 Conditioner condition - the woodwork or the metal?

Bought a shotgun case from Garg armoury recently - the owner is a real gent! Good person to deal with...
I'll also tag along with Sanjay next week, need to pick up .45 ACP ammo, which they have in stock...
Cheers!

Abhijeet,
Some pics and details of this shotgun case via e-mail pretty please.
Thanks.
Mack The Knife
P.S.: If it's a 'Tom Collins' case, don't bother.

Rusty,
It doesn't seem to have any sort of brand name... will take pics and mail them to you...
BTW - if I am not mistaken, the cleaning kits mentioned above are "Phorgun" kits... I'd enquired about those on behalf of Sanjay when I called them... the price (before discount) seems to match...
Cheers!

Thanks, would appreciate. Also, what you feel are the pros and cons.

I had a feeling they did as I have their catalogue and price list somewhere but wasn't sure. If it's from Phorgun, I will order direct as I had promised Mr. Ray to do so sometime ago.

Pros -
1. Decent looking with a black pseudo-leather finish
2. Provided with 2 combination lock latches
3. "Semi-fitted" with separate compartments for the barrels and action - so most SxS and O/U shotguns up to about 30" barrels should fit.
4. Compartment for ammo
5. Price was reasonable enough - IIRC INR 2,500/- or 2,300/-, I forget which...
6. Since it's a hard case, makes it easy to store a gun in a position where other items may be stacked on top of the case (not a recommended practice though!)
Cons -
1. I was told by the owner of Garg Armory (Mr. Rakesh) that the material below the pseudo-leather finish is plywood - therefore this is not a case that would take any kind of rough handling.
2. No provision for using additional padlocks
3. No provision for storing a cleaning kit. One could however use the extra space to stash it in the compartment meant for the barrel.
4. NOT IATA certified as "airline safe", this combined with the lack of a place to put padlocks and the actual construction being plywood - means that you will NOT be able to use this as a travel case.
5. Metal "corners" would have been a nice touch and contributed a bit more to it's ability to handle mild abuse.
6. Since the fit has been kept loose for maximum compatibility with various models, there are velcro strips in each compartment to hold the disassembled pieces - as we all know, velcro looses it's "stickiness" after a while.
Cannot think of any other points right now...
Cheers!

Wait a sec! I just rechecked and there is indeed a "Tom Collins" tag on the inside of this case! Sorry for the confusion Rusty, hadn't noticed the tag earlier... I take it you have come across this particular case before? Should I still mail you the pictures?
Cheers!

LOL. After all that effort you put into typing out the pros and cons, I am feeling decidedly embarassed about you having to post the pics as well.
I am afraid, the answer is 'no thanks' as far as sending the pics go, as I have seen this case. However, since you have come this far, you may as well post it for any other interested parties.
Thanks.

i like my case because it makes it handy to just keep the rifle away from dings and scratches. I got double egg shell foam inserted, so I can leave my qb in it. Now at times I even stack it up vertically to save space. It sleeker than the nighmare I have for my marlin and I guess by its weight itself I knew it'll never be an airline case. It can definitely be improved by being made out of alu . Maybe we can recco a design change.
